    Many people tend to forget about training their core muscles. They think that doing some ab exercises are enough but in truth are missing half the equation. The core muscles make up all the muscles that surround the “trunk” of your body. This means not just abs but lower back as well. Your core is what stabilizes you during most of your other workouts.     When it comes to workouts for women one of the areas many are looking to target is legs. Finding effective leg workouts for women can be hard but we will give you some of the best exercises for legs and a great program to get you started.

    Leg workouts for women should first be customized specifically for women. Although the exercises themselves will mostly be the same as leg exercises for men the application will be different as most men want to add size to their legs while women want to shape and tone. With that being said it doe not mean the exercises shuld be easier just done a little differently. If you want your leg workouts for women to be effective you need to put some work in.

    When it comes to leg workouts for women there are a few things to remember. You want to engage as many muscles as possible for maximum fat burning while working the legs. This means doing exercises that not only involve the legs themselves but stabilizer muscles as well. These are the muscles that keep you in the correct position while doing your leg workouts for women. The more muscles involved the more effective the exercise will be.

Squats can be done by almost anyone and there are so many variations that its easy to find a few to mix in your routine. You should be doing some form of squat in any leg workouts for women if you truly want to see results.

    Lunges – Lunges are also a great leg exercise as they can be done to in different directions to hit different muscle groups but, they also incorporate stabilizer muscles which again is a key to burning more fat during your leg workouts for women.

    Stiff Leg Deadlift – This is a must when it comes to leg workouts for women. Your hitting the hamstrings with a full range of motion and also getting that tight butt when you squeeze at the top of each rep. This exercise is very under utilized by women but perfect for hitting the muscles in the back of the leg.

    Calf Raises – Calf raises are an exercise that can be done almost anywhere. When it comes to wearing heels you need your calves to look their best and calf raises are the way to go.

    Although there are many other leg exercises these are the top 4 to get sexy, toned, head turning legs. They incorporate more stabilizer muscles then most machine exercises and hit a lot more muscle fibers in the legs as well. Also remember that your legs are generally you main way to get around. They are always in use so working them will take a little more then just walking a few blocks. You need to hit them in a way they haven’t been hit before to cause change.

    When it comes to workouts for women some people are looking for a total solution while others may be looking for something to add to their already established routine. Here we will cover a great upper body workout for women that you can start right away. One thing that you should remember is that if you want optimal results you do need to work the whole body. Spot reducing or sculpting does not work especially when it comes to burning fat. This workout is only a piece of the puzzle.

    Whether your doing a full body workout, lower body workout or upper body workout for women, I really like to incorporate super sets. This is combining two different exercises without taking a break in between. for example a super set for an upper body workout for women might be doing a set of tricep  presses followed immediately by a set of bicep curls. There are many different combination’s that can be put together and you can add more exercises to make what would be called a giant set.

This will get your body to keep moving and burn more fat while getting the most out of every set. You can also combine two similar exercises such as chest press and chest fly’s. This is a great way to really burn one muscle group and get many different muscle fibers working in that group. The upper body workout for women we will give you here will work on opposites.

    Super Set 1

    Push ups or Chest press with Pull ups or Lat pull downs

    Do 3 sets for 12- 15 reps. Remember this upper body workout for women is all super sets so as an example as soon as you finish your push ups start the pull ups. 60 to 90 seconds rest in between the super sets.

    Super Set 2

    Shoulder press with reverse flys – Do 3 sets for 12- 15 reps. 60 to 90 seconds rest in between the super sets.

    Super Set 3

    Dips with dumbbell curls – Do 3 sets for 12- 15 reps. 60 to 90 seconds rest in between the super sets.

    This is a very basic upper body workout for women but, can easily be ramped up depending on your fitness level. You can add another set to each super set or even more reps to each exercise. The key is to keep your body challenged so it has to adapt and build muscle while in turn using more energy to burn fat. If your just starting out you can do less sets as well. Combine this upper body workout for women with a good lower body and core workout and you will be amazed at how fast you see results. On the other hand I have no problem spending time on and elliptical machine but that’s me. You may have to try a few different workouts for women to find the one or one’s that are right for you.

It still amazes me how many women are afraid of weight training because they think they will get huge and look like a man.
